Overview

The Setup tab is where you provide all the information AI systems need to understand, describe, and recommend your business. This data feeds directly into your AI discovery files (llms.txt and llms-full.txt), schema markup, and Smart Generate suggestions.

All fields in the Setup tab save automatically when you make changes. There is no save button to click; each field saves on change or when you move to the next field.

Important

Your business name and description are required before AI discovery files can be generated. Complete these two fields first, then work through the remaining sections.

Business information

The business information section captures your core identity. This is the foundation that all generated files and schema markup are built from.

FieldDescription
Entity typeChoose Organization for businesses and companies, or Person for solo practitioners and personal brands. This determines the schema.org type used in structured data.
Business nameYour official business name as you want it to appear in AI responses and search results.
Canonical nameAn alternate or abbreviated version of your name (e.g., "SRWorks" for "SRWorks LLC"). Used as an alternate name in schema markup.
DescriptionA clear, concise description of what your business does. Two to three sentences work best. This appears in llms.txt and schema output.
LogoUpload or select your business logo from the WordPress media library. Used in schema markup and AI discovery files.
PhoneYour primary business phone number. Include the country code for international formatting.
EmailYour primary business contact email.
AddressYour business address (street, city, state/region, postal code, country).
Service areasGeographic regions your business serves (e.g., "Portland, OR", "Pacific Northwest", "United States"). Add one per line.

Social links

Add your social media profile URLs to help AI systems verify your identity and provide additional context. Supported platforms:

  • Facebook
  • Twitter / X
  • LinkedIn
  • Instagram
  • YouTube

These URLs are included as sameAs properties in your Organization/Person schema, which helps search engines and AI systems connect your web presence across platforms.

Services

Add each service your business offers. Services are a key part of how AI systems match your business to user queries. When someone asks an AI assistant for a recommendation, having detailed service information makes you more likely to be cited.

For each service, provide:

  • Service name: A clear, specific name (e.g., "WordPress Security Audit" rather than just "Auditing")
  • Description: What the service includes and who it is for. Be specific about outcomes.
  • Pricing: Optional. Include pricing information if available (e.g., "$500/month", "Starting at $1,200", "Free consultation").

Click Add Service to add additional entries. There is no limit to the number of services you can add.

Products

If your business sells products (physical or digital), add them here. Product data is included in your llms-full.txt file and can appear in schema markup.

For each product, provide:

  • Product name: The product title as you want it shown in AI responses
  • Description: What the product is and its key benefits
  • Price: The product price (e.g., "$29/year", "$99 one-time")
  • Availability: Whether the product is currently available (In Stock, Out of Stock, Pre-order)

FAQs

Frequently asked questions are one of the most impactful sections for AI visibility. AI assistants frequently pull answers directly from FAQ content when responding to user queries. Each question/answer pair is also output as FAQPage schema markup.

For each FAQ, provide:

  • Question: A real question your customers ask. Use natural, conversational language.
  • Answer: A clear, direct answer. Start with the key point, then add context. Keep answers under 200 words for best AI extraction.

Tip

Focus on questions your customers actually ask, not marketing-driven questions. "What are your business hours?" and "Do you offer free estimates?" are more useful to AI systems than "Why are we the best?"

Reviews and testimonials

Add customer reviews and testimonials to build trust signals for AI systems. Reviews with ratings contribute to your schema markup and help AI assistants provide social proof when recommending your business.

For each review, provide:

  • Quote: The customer's review or testimonial text
  • Author: The reviewer's name
  • Rating: A star rating from 1 to 5

Team members

Adding team members helps AI systems understand the expertise behind your business. This is especially valuable for service businesses where individual expertise matters for recommendations.

For each team member, provide:

  • Name: The team member's full name
  • Role: Their job title or role (e.g., "Lead Developer", "Marketing Director")
  • Bio: A brief professional biography highlighting relevant experience
  • Expertise tags: Comma-separated areas of expertise (e.g., "WordPress, PHP, Security, Performance")

AI context

The AI Context section gives you two powerful tools for fine-tuning how AI systems understand your business.

Business context

A free-text field (up to 5,000 characters) where you can provide additional context that does not fit into the structured fields above. This might include your founding story, competitive advantages, methodology, certifications, or anything else you want AI systems to know when describing your business.

This context is fed into the Smart Generate feature and included in your llms-full.txt file.

Reference pages

Select up to 5 published posts or pages from your WordPress site that best represent your business. These pages serve as reference material for the Smart Generate feature, helping it produce more accurate and on-brand content suggestions.

Good choices for reference pages include your About page, a flagship service page, a popular blog post, or your most important landing page.

Tip

Use the Smart Generate button (available next to many text fields) to help create content for any section. It uses your existing business information and reference pages to draft descriptions, FAQs, and more.

Auto-save behavior

All fields in the Setup tab save automatically. When you type in a text field, the value is saved when you click away or tab to the next field (on blur). Toggles, dropdowns, and selections save immediately on change.

You will see a brief "Saved" indicator when a field is successfully saved. If a save fails (for example, due to a network issue), you will see an error indicator and can try again.

Best practices

  • Be specific: "Full-service WordPress development agency specializing in e-commerce" is better than "Web development company"
  • Use natural language: Write descriptions the way you would explain your business in conversation
  • Keep information current: Update services, pricing, and contact info whenever they change, since AI discovery files regenerate from this data
  • Add at least 5 FAQs: More FAQ coverage means more queries where AI systems can recommend you accurately
  • Include pricing when possible: Price information helps AI systems give more complete recommendations to users
