Overview

CitedPro provides a comprehensive analytics system that combines AI bot visit data and LLM referral tracking into a single interface. The analytics are split across two locations: the Dashboard for at-a-glance summaries and the Analytics tab for detailed exploration.

Dashboard

The CitedPro Dashboard provides a quick overview of your AI visibility metrics:

  • Total AI bot visits: The total number of AI bot visits across your configured retention period
  • Total LLM referrals: Human visitors who arrived from AI platforms
  • Top bot: The AI bot that visits your site most frequently
  • Setup progress: A percentage showing how much of your business profile is complete

Below the stats cards, a recent activity feed shows the latest bot visits and LLM referrals with timestamps and page URLs.

Dashboard widget

CitedPro also adds a widget to the main WordPress admin dashboard. The widget shows a mini chart of recent AI bot visits, a quick LLM referral count, the top AI platform source, and a link to the full Analytics tab.

Analytics tab

Navigate to CitedPro → Analytics for the full analytics experience.

Date range selector

Use the date range selector at the top of the tab to filter all data. You can choose preset ranges (7 days, 30 days, 90 days) or set a custom range.

Bot visit trends

The trend chart (powered by Chart.js) shows daily AI bot visits over your selected date range. Days with no visits display as zero rather than gaps, giving you an accurate picture of activity patterns. You can view the breakdown by individual bot or by category.

Category breakdown

A breakdown shows how visits are distributed across bot categories (AI Search Crawler, AI Agent, AI Data Scraper, AI Assistant, Undocumented AI Agent). This helps you quickly see what types of AI systems are most interested in your content.

LLM referrals breakdown

The referrals section shows daily trends of human visitors arriving from AI platforms, with attribution to the specific platform (ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, etc.). See the LLM Referral Tracking documentation for details on how referrals are detected.

Top pages

Two separate top pages lists show:

  • Top pages by AI bot visits: Which pages AI crawlers visit most frequently
  • Top pages by LLM referrals: Which pages receive the most human traffic from AI platforms

This data helps you identify which content AI systems find most valuable and where your AI-driven traffic actually lands.

CSV export

Export your tracking data for external analysis or reporting:

  1. Go to CitedPro → Analytics
  2. Set your desired date range
  3. Click Export CSV

The exported CSV includes all fields:

ColumnDescription
DateVisit date and time
Bot NameThe identified bot or platform name
CategoryBot category
Page URLThe page that was visited
User AgentFull user-agent string
IP AddressVisitor IP
Is HumanYes for LLM referrals, No for bot visits
ReferrerHTTP referrer (for LLM referrals)

AI analytics summary

Click the Summarize button in the Analytics tab to get an AI-generated summary of your data. The summary highlights key trends, notable changes, and actionable insights based on your recent bot activity and referral patterns.

  • Daily limit: 15 summaries per day
  • Summaries are generated via the api.srworks.co proxy
  • The summary considers your full date range selection

Tip

Use the AI summary feature to quickly prepare reports for clients or stakeholders. It distills complex bot activity data into plain-language insights.

Data retention

Analytics data is retained based on your data retention setting in CitedPro → Settings. The default is 365 days, configurable between 30 and 365 days. A daily cron job automatically deletes records older than your configured retention period.

All analytics data is stored locally in your WordPress database. No data is sent to external analytics services.

Using your analytics data

Measure AI visibility

Track whether your AI search optimization efforts are working. An upward trend in bot visits and LLM referrals over time indicates growing visibility in AI search results.

Identify high-value content

Pages that receive the most AI bot visits are the ones AI systems find most useful. Double down on that content format and topic depth. Pages with high LLM referrals are already being recommended to users.

Spot content gaps

If certain pages get frequent bot visits but low LLM referrals, AI systems are reading the content but not recommending it. This may indicate the content needs better structure, clearer answers, or more authoritative information.

Report to stakeholders

Use CSV exports and AI summaries to create reports showing AI search performance over time. This is especially useful for agencies managing multiple client sites.
